Set in the sprawling expanses of a former 750ha homestead south of Griffith in the heart of Wiradjuri Country, the Tirkandi Inaburra Cultural and Development Centre was conceived as a unique opportunity to develop a residential centre offering Aboriginal youth, who are at risk of contact with the criminal justice system, a culturally based early intervention program. Consultation was integral to the design process involving the Aboriginal community including Aboriginal boys and Elders.
