EDUARDO TAPIA

Educated at the Catholic University of Chile, Eduardo began his career in Chile as Director of Municipal Works in Chiloe and Chillan, and then later, as Principal Architect of his own firm, involved in several social housing and public building projects.

After emigrating to Australia in 1986, he started work at Brian McDonaId + Associates (1987-2000), becoming an Associate Director with focus on design, documentation and contract administration of a range of medium density residential developments, educational and public buildings, infill redevelopment in conservation areas, and conservation work of heritage listed buildings.

In 2001 he joined Resitech, a professional service agency of the NSW Department of Housing, where he continued his interest in the area of social and affordable housing, seniors living, special needs housing, group homes and community facilities. 

Eduardo is a highly organized professional with a strong focus on client needs, cultural awareness, team building and collaboration and possesses skills in the design of public and social housing, community services and special needs facilities, including feasibility studies, urban design, heritage conservation and adaptive reuse and extensive experience in detailed design and construction.

When not working, Eduardo can be found planning his next trip to Tasmania where he is looking forward to one day completing the Overland Track.
